Basic Qualifications:
Must have two or more years of experience coordinating or managing environmental assessment and/or compliance work related to CEQA and NEPA
requirements.
Core Competencies:
- Bachelors degree in an environmental, planning or technical field, including engineering, science, planning, or related fields; or an
equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Typically possesses four or more years experience performing analysis, consulting, and providing recommendations for environmental assessments.
- Demonstrated experience with California Public Utilities Commission, California Energy Commission, US Forest service, and/or Bureau of Land Management (BLM) with the regulatory approval processes.
- Demonstrated experience with electrical transmission line, substation and electrical generation systems, and related environmental issues.
- Demonstrated experience with CEQA and NEPA requirements and processes, mitigation measures, and related implementation means.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize and balance sometimes heavy workloads to achieve goals while keeping up with a highly mobile and changing environment.
- Team player with demonstrated ability to work well with others, to keep other team members aware of project and client needs.
- Demonstrated experience balancing and organizing multiple projects, reviewing and documenting project progress, developing communication plans, and reviewing and updating scope and progress for construction projects.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to clients business needs.
- Demonstrated ability to validate and accurately analyze information, and make sound decisions that have considerable business impact.

Preferences:
- Masters Degree environmental field and/or more than five years of direct utility related environmental project work.
- Knowledge of and a demonstrated ability with GIS.
Typical Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Environmental Project Coordinator (TSP3) is to coordinate the preparation of required environmental permit applications,
including CPUC Permit to Construct (PTC), Certificate of Public Convenience & Necessity (CPCN), and other environmental permit applications.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Working closely with other SCE organizations on project teams, including CSBU Transmission Project Licensing, TDBU Project Management, Regulatory Policy & Affairs, Public Affairs, Law, etc., to assist in obtaining governmental project approval and related permits for new transmission line and substation projects, implement and oversee mitigation measures, and help other departments maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Preparing internal and external reports addressing issues and actions associated with projects, and communicating with internal team members and agency personnel.
- Working extensively with internal clients, including multi disciplinary teams, field personnel and management on project licensing and environmental documentation.
- Management of the preparation of all required application and environmental assessment documents by the internal project team as well as external consultants.
- Managing project schedules and budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Managing EH&S budget for assigned projects.
- Preparing scope of work, RFPs and review bids for consultant support.
- Managing consultant work and reconcile invoices, with Budget Analyst's support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
