The ABC Resource Conservation District was founded in 1938. it's function is "to take available technical, Financial and educational resources, whatever their source and focus them ror coordinate them so that they meet the needs of the local land user."

The Conservation District has been a key organization in promoting sound resource management and strengthening federal, state, and private cooperation in protecting and managing fish and wildlife and their habitats in the public interest.
